Implant Placement Using a Surgical Guide

This patient came to our clinic with a fractured front tooth and a strong desire to restore both the appearance and function of his smile. Given the location of the damage—right in the aesthetic zone—it was crucial to approach the case with precision, careful planning, and minimally invasive techniques to ensure the best possible outcome.
We began by conducting a detailed 3D cone-beam CT scan (CBCT), which allowed us to assess the bone structure, tooth position, and surrounding anatomical features in high resolution. Based on this analysis, we developed a treatment plan that involved immediate extraction of the broken tooth followed by simultaneous placement of a dental implant. To achieve absolute accuracy in implant positioning, we designed and utilized a custom surgical guide, created using advanced digital planning protocols.
The implant was placed with high precision using the surgical guide, ensuring optimal angulation and depth. Immediately afterward, we placed a temporary crown on the implant, allowing the patient to leave the clinic with a functional and aesthetically pleasing tooth on the same day.
This immediate provisionalization helped maintain the natural gum contour and supported the patient’s appearance and confidence during the healing phase.
We allowed approximately six months for the implant to fully integrate with the surrounding bone—a biological process known as osseointegration.
Once complete, we proceeded with the fabrication of a final ceramic crown, created using a fully digital workflow for enhanced accuracy, fit, and aesthetics.
The result is a seamless, natural-looking restoration that blends perfectly with the patient’s existing teeth. Not only was the patient extremely pleased with the function and appearance of the final result, but the entire experience—from consultation to final delivery—left a lasting positive impression, thanks to the professionalism and dedication of our entire dental team.
